Izer 500mg Injection/Infusion is a high-potency, broad-spectrum parenteral antibacterial formulation containing Meropenem / Imipenem / Active Carbapenem-Beta-Lactam (500mg). Engineered for immediate systemic bioavailability via Intravenous (IV) injection or slow IV infusion, Izer 500mg is indicated for the treatment of severe, complicated, and multi-drug resistant bacterial infections in hospitalized patients. It delivers rapid bactericidal action against a wide range of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic pathogens causing critical lower respiratory, intra-abdominal, urinary tract, gynecological, and septicemic infections.
\n \nBroad-Spectrum Bactericidal Efficacy: Highly effective against resistant Gram-negative bacilli, Gram-positive cocci, and anaerobic clinical isolates.
\nRapid Systemic Bioavailability: Direct intravenous delivery ensures immediate therapeutic serum levels for acute critical care management.
\nPotent Resistance Profile: Resistant to degradation by most bacterial beta-lactamases, including penicillinases and cephalosporinases.
\nVersatile Inpatient Application: Indicated for severe nosocomial pneumonia, complicated intra-abdominal sepsis, febrile neutropenia, and complicated skin structure infections.
\nFlexible Parenteral Administration: Formulated for slow IV bolus injection or extended intravenous drip infusion.
\nIzer 500mg (Carbapenem / Beta-Lactam active) exerts its bactericidal action by selectively binding to essential penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner bacterial cell membrane—specifically PBP 2 and PBP 3 in Gram-negative bacteria. This binding inhibits the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, weakening the bacterial cell wall structural matrix. The resulting osmotic instability triggers cell wall rupture, autolytic enzyme activation, and rapid bacterial cell death.
\n \nBroad-Spectrum Beta-Lactam / Carbapenem Agent (500mg per vial): Ultra-broad-spectrum parenteral antibiotic that halts bacterial cell wall synthesis to eliminate resistant pathogens.
\nReconstitution: Reconstitute the 500mg dry powder vial with 10ml of Sterile Water for Injection for IV injection, or dilute further in 50ml to 100ml of compatible infusion fluids (0.9% Sodium Chloride or 5% Dextrose).
\nAdministration:
\n \nIV Injection: Administer reconstituted solution slowly over 3 to 5 minutes.
\nIV Infusion: Infuse diluted solution over 15 to 30 minutes (or extended infusion over 3 hours as per critical care protocols).
\nClinical Dosing: Administer 500mg every 8 hours (or as prescribed by an attending infectious disease specialist or intensivist based on renal clearance and infection severity).
\nProfessional Healthcare Use: Must be administered exclusively by a qualified healthcare professional in a hospital or clinical setting.
\nPrescription-Only Parenteral: Strictly for professional healthcare and clinical administration; do not self-administer.
\nHypersensitivity Alert: Carefully screen patients for prior severe hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
\nRenal Function Monitoring: Dosage adjustments are mandatory in patients with renal impairment ($CL_{cr} < 50\text{ ml/min}$).
\nCNS & Seizure Risk: Exercise caution in patients with pre-existing central nervous system disorders or epilepsy.
\nConsult an attending physician before use during pregnancy or lactation.
\nKeep out of reach of children.
\nStore the un-reconstituted dry powder vial in a cool, dry place below 30°C, protected from light and heat. Once reconstituted, the solution should be used immediately or within 2 to 3 hours if kept below 25°C. Do not freeze.
\n \nFormulated and manufactured in strict compliance with international pharmaceutical quality standards, dedicated to engineering advanced anti-infective and critical care parenteral therapies that combat antimicrobial resistance and protect patient lives.
