Description
Product Overview
Corelex Injection 4mg/2ml is a high-potency parenteral antimuscarinic and smooth muscle spasmolytic formulation. Formulated for Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) administration, Corelex provides rapid clinical relief from acute smooth muscle spasms of the urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, and biliary tree. By delivering immediate systemic bioavailability, Corelex 4mg/2ml quickly alleviates acute renal colic, severe urinary urge spasms, bladder hypermotility, and visceral smooth muscle cramps during clinical emergencies or post-operative care.
Key Benefits
Rapid Spasmolytic Relief: Fast-acting parenteral delivery provides swift relief from acute visceral smooth muscle spasms and colic pain.
Calms Bladder & Urological Spasms: Effectively relaxes the detrusor muscle to manage acute urinary retention spasms, severe urge incontinence, and post-catheterization discomfort.
Targeted Visceral Muscle Relaxation: Relieves acute hypermotility and painful spasms across gastrointestinal and biliary smooth muscle pathways.
Immediate Systemic Availability: Bypasses gastrointestinal absorption for rapid, predictable therapeutic action in hospital and emergency settings.
Versatile Parenteral Routes: Suitable for both slow Intravenous (IV) infusion/injection and deep Intramuscular (IM) administration.
How It Works
Corelex Injection 4mg/2ml acts as a competitive antagonist at peripheral muscarinic ( and ) cholinergic receptors located on smooth muscle cells. Parasympathetic activation releases acetylcholine, which binds to these receptors and triggers intracellular calcium influx, leading to intense smooth muscle contraction and spasm. Corelex selectively blocks acetylcholine binding, suppressing hyperactive motor activity, increasing visceral organ storage capacity, and restoring normal smooth muscle tone.
Key Active Ingredients
Antimuscarinic Spasmolytic Agent (4mg per 2ml ampoule): Parenteral anticholinergic active that inhibits muscarinic receptor activity to relax visceral smooth muscle tissue.
Directions for Use
Administration: For slow Intravenous (IV) injection/infusion or deep Intramuscular (IM) injection only.
Clinical Dosing:
Acute Spasm/Colic: Typically 2ml (4mg) administered slowly, adjusted based on patient weight, age, and clinical response as determined by the attending physician.
Infusion: May be diluted in compatible IV fluids (such as 0.9% Sodium Chloride or 5% Dextrose) for slow intravenous administration.
Professional Healthcare Use: Must be administered exclusively by a qualified healthcare professional in a clinic, hospital, or surgical setting.
Precautions
Prescription-Only Parenteral: Strictly for professional medical administration; do not self-administer.
Contraindications: Do not use in patients with mechanical gastrointestinal stenosis, paralytic ileus, severe urinary retention due to bladder outlet obstruction, or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma.
Exercise caution in patients with tachyarrhythmias, severe coronary artery disease, hepatic impairment, or myasthenia gravis.
May cause transient blurred vision, dry mouth, or mild tachycardia; advise patients against driving or operating machinery until symptoms clear.
Consult a physician before use during pregnancy or lactation.
